An empty space

within a room

is all that I can bear

Before I long

for just a glimpse,

a glimpse to know

you're there

And lovers' moonlight

'neath a sky

can ever barren be

If out upon

the silent night

you're far away

from me

For cold wind blows

with ice and frost

and gales sweep

me aside

When arms

outstretched

just miss

your grasp,

the devils

love deride

And out upon

the choral notes,

I cannot bear

to sing

Until your note

of satin soft

is heard on

voice's wing

So calmly now,

though hastened thus,

I soar through

skies above

To sing with all

the angels massed,

I live for you I love
