Checking in

Sorry for my absence. I blog regularly and it would appear if I go missing for a few days my readers panic. Thank you for the lovely emails checking in on me.

I have been ill (started antibiotics Friday). We are also in the middle of insane weather conditions that have shut down all work for Heartpoet this Australia Day long weekend.We reside at the bottom of a sloping cul-de-sac with a creek bordering the property. Idyllic usually but not in conditions like these.

Our back yard currently has the appearance of a swimming pool, front yard a wading pool, downstairs flooded earlier yesterday and again overnight. Wild winds and unrelenting rain that is pelting down. The creek that was almost dry a week ago is now swollen and raging. Heartpoet believes it will flood today.Tornadoes have ripped through several towns, flood waters are swamping homes and South East Queensland - Brisbane (where I live) is in the firing line today and tomorrow. I believe flights have been cancelled at Gold Coast and Brisbane airports.

It's a headache for sure :(
