My Valentine's Day Poem - Closer
Thanks for the emails reminding me that I promised to type up the Valentine's Day poem that Heartpoet penned for me. I have not been feeling the best and it slipped my usual elephant like memory ha!
For my darling...
Closer
Hollow is the heart that never knows a love
And empty be the sighs at midnight's peal
Weather closes in to shroud it all in black
And the mind begins to tell it not to feel
And shallow is the day that strikes the barren light
Colours washing out of every scene
Conversations blank on a never ending breath
That struggles with the thought of what it means
Yet I do hereby claim our love that never fades
In fact expanding by the moments passing by
Sunshine driving thoughts every time I look at you
As cupid sends those arrows on the fly
And fullsome is the feast we share upon this earth
Of love our hearts are singularly replete
Moments with your hands and our finger tippers dance
A glance upon a moment so discrete
For melting when I'm with you I'm a puddle on your floor
Won't you scoop me up for a stethoscopic test
Just check my heart is beating that my vital signs are strong
Best you hold me closer - yes, no, closer - to your breasts!

Well that was a bit of a cheeky one eh what!! ;)
